Minneapolis is Building again ($1B)

If you haven't guessed already, the city of MPLS is experiencing a growth in construction.

"According to 2012 permit numbers from the City of Minneapolis, the city had issued 12,161 building permits collectively worth about $1.01 billion as of Monday. The last time the city’s construction projects surpassed the $1 billion mark was in 2004, when the city permitted $1.14 billion worth of building projects"-by Nataleeya Boss, Twin Cities Business

A Very Mix Christmas
Sunday, December 23, 2012
6:00pm until 1:00am
Prohibition Bar- W Minneapolis

Join Dave Em and Mike Tomczyk in the beautiful Prohibition Lounge on the 27th floor of the W Minneapolis (8th and Marquette) for a holiday Sunday Funday. Wear an ugly Christmas sweater... or come as you are. Just be ready to have fun. We'll be offering $4 domestics, $5 rail cocktails and $6 house wines all evening. No cover, 21+.

Along with your unglamorous sweater, we will be taking an unglamorous approach to holiday giving. Rather than collecting stocking stuffers and such, we will be gathering household items on behalf of The Aliveness Project:

---Personal hygiene items (toothbrushes/toothpaste, body washes, lotion, deodorant, feminine hygiene, etc.)
---Non-perishable food items (canned goods, boxed dinners, nutritional supplements like Ensure, coffee, flour, etc.)
---Paper products (toilet paper, paper towels and napkins, etc.)

Remember that Aliveness provides services year-round, and while all the gift-giving during the holidays is greatly appreciated, it would also be good to re-stock the critical items needed for day-to-day living. Thanks in advance for contributing generously!

Parking: Valet on Marquette between 8th and 9th; Midwest Plaza garage (entrance on Marquette across the street from the W); metered street parking
